Fundamentals of Weather

Overview of the course
This introductory course focuses on how to "read" the weather. Learn to read the messages Mother Nature is sending you in the clouds, winds and waves.
 
What will I learn?
This exciting course covers topics such as how the sun causes weather, what causes the wind to blow, the various forms of precipitation and fog, cloud formations, frontal systems, thunderstorms and tornados, and forecasting the weather.
 
Pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites for this course. Any member of the public is welcome to participate.
 
Study requirements
The course runs for two hours, one evening per week for 12 weeks.  There should be no more than one hour per week of study necessary outside of class time.  There is an exam at the end of the course.
 
Registration
The fee for this course is $90 for members and $110 for non-members, including materials. This course is run on demand so please let our Training officer know if you are interested.
