This course provides the knowledge necessary to become a safe and proficient operator of a power-driven vessel.

| What will I learn? |
The course covers subject such as power trains, engine controls and instruments; handling and cruising under power; mooring and anchoring; legal responsibilities; engine and trouble diagnosis; fuels and fuel systems; electrical systems; cooling and lubrication; maintenance and fire safety.

| There are no pre-requisites for this course. |
| Study requirements |
Study requirements depend upon each student's level of knowledge but should average no more than one hour per week outside of class time.

| Registration |
| The fee for this course is $85.00 for CPS members and $100.00 for non-members, including materials. This course is run on an on-demand basis so please let our training officer know if you are interested. |
