Seamanship Power

Overview of the course
This course provides the knowledge necessary to become a safe and proficient operator of a power-driven vessel.
 
What will I learn?
The course covers subject such as power trains, engine controls and instruments; handling and cruising under power; mooring and anchoring; legal responsibilities; engine and trouble diagnosis; fuels and fuel systems; electrical systems; cooling and lubrication; maintenance and fire safety.
 
Pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites for this course.
Study requirements
Study requirements depend upon each student's level of knowledge but should average no more than one hour per week outside of class time. 
 
Registration
The fee for this course is $85.00 for CPS members and $100.00 for non-members, including materials. This course is run on an on-demand basis so please let our training officer know if you are interested.
