Extended Cruising

Overview of the course
This fascinating, 12 week course focuses on the unique aspects and challenges of sailing offshore, in order to maximize the enjoyment and minimize the risks for those on board the boat.
 
What will I learn?

The course covers subject such as passage planning and the voyage; oceanography and the weather; checklists and repair kits, and Maritime Mobile Nets.

Guest speakers with extensive and/or off-shore cruising experience will be invited to speak to the class.
 

Study requirements
The course will run one evening, two hours per week for 12 weeks.  There should be no more than one hour per week of study necessary outside of class time.  There is an exam at the end of the course.
 
Registration
This course runs on demand so please let our training officer know you're interested. The fee, which includes materials, is $85 for members and $100 for non-members.
