NANAIMO POWER & SAIL SQUADRONThe Nanaimo Power & Sail Squadron is one of approximately 175 Squadrons across Canada which make up the Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons . As community volunteers, we are dedicated to promoting safe and confident boating by offering basic and advanced courses, providing opportunities for fellowship with other boating enthusiasts, and conducting free boat safety checks. CANADIAN POWER & SAIL SQUADRONSThe Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons is a nationwide non-profit organization dedicated to educating and training people on safe boating. There are approximately 175 local squadrons and a total of 35,000 members across the country. To become a member of the Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons it is necessary to pass the Boating Course Exam. You can become an associate member by earning your Pleasure Craft Operators Card (PCOC) through the Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons. TRAININGThe Nanaimo Power & Sail Squadron offers Canadian Power & Sail Squadron courses to squadron members and to the general public. Nanaimo (Chuckling Chimes Photo Album) NANAIMONanaimo is a beautiful city of approximately 80,000 people, located on east coast of Vancouver Island about 110 km north of Victoria. Nanaimo is the gateway to cruising the west coast of British Columbia, Washington State and Alaska and a popular destination for boaters. Safe moorage can be found in the Nanaimo Boat Basin , several local marinas, and at Mark Bay at the south end of Newcastle Island Marine Provincial Park. |
