ABOUT THE NANAIMO POWER & SAIL SQUADRON

The Nanaimo Power & Sail Squadron is a member squadron of the Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons .

The Nanaimo Power & Sail Squadron has approximately 450 active members and has served Nanaimo for more than 50 years. The club's executive is known as the Bridge .

The mission of the Nanaimo Power & Sail Squadron is to promote safe boating by providing:

• training for beginner and seasoned boaters,
• opportunities for boaters to meet and socialize with other boating enthusiasts,
• boat safety checks for members and the general public.

TRAINING AND EDUCATION

Each fall and spring, volunteer instructors offer the basic Canadian Power & Sail Squadron Boating Course .

• The Boating Course introduces new boaters to safe boating and provides them with the opportunity to earn their Pleasurecraft Operators Card (PCOC).
• To become a Nanaimo Power & Sail Squadron member, you need to pass The Boating Course.
• All pleasure craft operators are required by law to have a PCOC.

Nanaimo Power & Sail Squadron volunteer instructors also offer Advanced, Elective and Electronic Courses to members and other qualified boaters.
